now all inter network calls are at Rs.1 and cross network calls are that 2/-
This is standard for all networks.

To buy a SIM, you'll have to produce an ID. You can use your passport for that. This is standard for all networks as well.

I'd say go with mobitel as they have good coverage and their 3G coverage is also good for Data access. Their daily/weekly data plans from 25/- to 75/- are fully worthwhile for mail checking and general browsing.

technically, yes though practically, unless you get caught trying to photo or video girls with your phone, no one is likely to ask for papers for your sim card.

the loyalty thing uses the old call rates and is only advantageous when you're calling other mobitel numbers and those calls are over 3 minutes long.
If you switch to the new call rates, then you lose the advantage on long calls but you will save on short calls to other networks.

No idea on dialog as I dont use it.

The any8/ 10 thing has no effect with the new call rates. Its applicable only if you still have the old rates.
keep the old rates if those long calls are for other mobitel numbers. The advantage is only if you're making long calls to other mobitel numbers. If those calls are for other networks, then there's no advantage at all.

For all the mobile networks, internetwork call rates are Rs 1/- per minute and cross network calls are at 2/- per minute. These rates are fixed by the TRC so no operator can go below these rates.
So your selection factors will have to be coverage & data plan rates

Mobitel is the best as far as im concerned. And yes you hav to register urself when u purchase a sim. But its not a big deal anymore. It wont take more than half and hour to activate the sim :):):)

    OK, here we go; So, if you need a better coverage and good service;
You have choose between Dialog and Mobitel (personally I recommend Dialog)

If you make short calls often (less than 60 seconds); Dialog has per second billing; compare the rates in this chart.

On net means within the same network (Eg: Dialog to Dialog)
M2M is Rs.1, sorry for the mistake

Actually tax rate was 31.31% and it was changed to 22.45% from this year

only Mobitel, Dialog and Airtel has 3G coverage. So Data wise, the others are not even worth the hassle.
Out of the three, Airtel's 3G coverage is severely limited so its not much of a contender when you are moving around a lot.
