    I would suggest deploying a OLAP db in the data center and syncing data to it. Generating reports with a OLAP db should be faster. Use some BI tool to generate reports

    mac os is not that different from linux or even windows nowadays. it'll take less than a week or so to get used to the mac os I guess. 8 gb memory is not enough. 16 gb is minimum nowadays. SSD size depends on usage requirements but would recommend getting a 500gb ssd.

    if you want to buy lenovo, buy something from the thinkpad series. preferably from T and P series. thinkpads are business laptops from lenovo and are made with a higher build quality compared to consumer grade ideapads. any consumer grade laptop from any manufacturer is shit in general
