People need to pay tax to run a country efficiently. The problem in Sri Lanka is nobody wants to pay tax but they want all the social benefits. Just look at the tax rate in Australia, income is calculated from all sources including bank interest. There is also a Medicare levy of 2% of your taxable income.

I think SL people would pay taxes gladly if they know their tax money is used correctly. But because of how the gov manages people's tax money, SL people hesitate to pay the taxes.

These countres dont have VAT. And the gov officials dont steal the tax money like our fuckers do. Just look at our public healthcare. Pathetic.

Im willing to pay more than this if Im sure that money will be spent on healthcare and children’s education. But I dont want to spend a cent to feed those fucking dogs in the parliment and their wives. Fuckers

About paying taxes? I don't mind paying taxes if it is applied in a fair way and if we actually benefit in return. If not I have no issue of getting my shit out of this shit hole.

Also what I said was, they should curtail the welfare economy to a great extent and put everyone to some sort of tax paying bracket. Then it is fair. Else some of us work our asses off to pay taxes so that a bunch of loser mofos can do whatever they want with their votes by voting for the guys who entertain free loaders.

Right now people who pay taxes like us are paying the price for mistakes done by morons backed by a majority of free loaders. Am I not right?
