Only in the Amazon areas. Both in Brazil and Peru. It's native to these areas. Also I have seen it in a tropical plant nursery.

In Vietnam & Cambodia you get much larger leaves than in SriLanka - but the flowers look the same. I am not so sure whether these are just another variety or pollutants in the water.

Well... I have seen this size of Leaves in Sri Lanka. But not the shape. its really nice for a big pond, isn't it??
