The British Broadcasting Corporation has told its London-based journalists attached to the BBC's Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Tamil and Sinhala services to return to their home countries and to do the same work for the BBC from their native lands.
This decision has been taken as a means of cutting costs, according to the corporation's management.
Of all the BBC's foreign language services its Sinhala service, 'Sandeshaya' has gained notoriety for working against the interests of the very country it represents. It has done far more damage to our country than the BBC English service. In its heyday - prior to the outbreak of LTTE terrorism - Sandeshaya was among the most popular and respected services where personalities such veterans as H.M.Gunasekera and Sunanda Mahendra were broadcasting from London.
However, within the past 15 years Sandeshaya gradually turned into pro-LTTE, anti-Sri Lanka cesspit with traitors like Priyath Liyanage taking over its operations. It has done immeasurable harm to our country's international image in order to serve the Tiger agenda under cover of exposing human rights violations. These Sinhala vermin - in the pay of foreign-sponsored NGO 'peaceniks' - has done its utmost to mislead the British and the rest of the international community on Sri Lanka's crisis. There was even an instance where one of them accused Sinhala bhikkus of trying to "convert Veddahs to Buddhism" but totally ignored the real proselytizing done by Christian evangelists in Sinhala Buddhist villages.
Many a time UK-based patriotic Sri Lankans, notably Sinhala Association President Douglas Wickremaratne, have protested opposite the BBC's London office against these Sinhala traitors. If and when the latter return to Sri Lanka they should be held answerable to all the damage they caused to Sri Lanka in general and the Sinhala majority in particular.
