මන්නාරම සහ පූනරින් හි මෙගාවොට් 484ක සුළං විදුලි බලාගාර සංවර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා වන අවබෝධතා ගිවිසුමට අනුව, යෝජිත ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ නිෂ්පාදනය කරන විදුලිය සඳහා කිලෝවොට් පැයකට අමෙරිකානු ඩොලර් ශත 8.26ක් (සැබෑ විනිමය අනුපාතය අනුව ශ්‍රී ලංකා රුපියල්වලින් ගෙවීමට යටත්ව) අවසන් ගාස්තුව වශයෙන් පිළි ගැනීමට කැබිනට් අනුමැතිය හිමිව තිබෙනවා.

ඒ අනුව විදුලිබල හා බලශක්ති අමාත්‍යවරයා විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාව අනුව වසර විස්සක කාලයක් සඳහා අදාළ මිල ගණන් යටතේ M/s Adani Green Energy SL Limited වෙතින් විදුලිය මිල දී ගැනීම සඳහා වන ටෙන්ඩරය පිරිනැමීමටත් කැබිනට් අනුමැතිය හිමිව තිබුණා.

ඉන්දියාවේ M/s Adani Green Energy Limited විසින් මන්නාරම සහ පූනරින්හි සුළං විදුලි බලාගාර සංවර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා අවබෝධතා ගිවිසුමක එළඹීමට ඉකුත් 2022 වසරේ මාර්තු 07 වැනි දා පැවැති අමාත්‍ය මණ්ඩල රැස්වීමේ දී අනුමැතිය හිමිව තිබුණා.

ඒ අනුව එම සමාගම විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කළ ව්‍යාපෘති යෝජනාව ඇගයීම සඳහා අමාත්‍ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් පත් කළ සාකච්ඡා සම්මුති කමිටුවේ නිර්දේශ මත පදනම්ව අමාත්‍ය මණ්ඩලය අදාළ අනුමැතිය ලබා දී ඇත්තේ

Sri Lanka solar power costs down 20-pct as rupee strengthens​

ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s exchange rate as well as a fall in manufacturing costs have reduced the cost of solar power systems, an industry official said.
“Cost have actually come down from last year by around 20 per cent,” Accounts Manager of E.B. Creasy, Eksath De Silva said.
He was speaking at an event to announce the Construction Power and Energy Conference which will held from July 05 to 07 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo, which the company is supporting.
Organizers are expecting over 170 exhibitors for the event and 14,000 visitors.
Demand for solar power is coming back as the Return on Investment is now higher.
“Returns are significantly good,” De Silva said. “There is a significant increase in demand and there is a significant increase in returns.”
Solar panel prices surged worldwide as the US Fed printed money, with shipping costs also rising.
The US Fed then hiked rates and also started to withdraw excess money, driving down global food, and oil prices. (Colombo/May07/2024)

If this is from Adani, just for yesterday we have to pay, 1570000 x USD 0.0826 = USD 129,682.00. For a year (365 days) cost is USD 47.3 Million. For a 486 MW windpower total payment is USD 230 Million.

The total investment by Adani for the project is $442 million. Source. As per this caluclation within two years enteir cost is covered.

For 18 years Sri Lankns will pay full profit to Adani which is USD 230 Million x 18 = USD 4,140 Million (LKR 1242 Billion)

This is why these type of projects must be done by government with funding agencies like ADB.

Adani earns nearly $460 Millon within first two years. Their investment on the project is $440 Million. So their investment is recovered within 2 years.

In reality, ROI of wind power plant is less than 1 year. In India, there are wind power projects that costs only 4 INR per kWh
