It’s going to be 30 years since the death of Rukmani Devi, Sri Lanka’s first mega star of the Silver screen, she lived & still living in the hearts of many of our older generations folks. From the first Sinhala movie Kadawunu Poronduwa, she starred in many movies for over 4 decades, she was a beautiful woman with many talents…………and she was well respected by even the biggest names of Sri Lankan art seen, like Amaradewa & Gamini Fonseka,
She may not be the most talented songstress, but these few songs are wonderful, still a desired music to listen to……………………….

Ne, meka mage warada, these are too old, also Rukmani is not a great singer too, but for what ever the reason I love some of her songs, even I started listening to these only recently,
What ever said & done, she was SL's first mega star, silver screen, music etc, we should respect her for that......................
