The media reported that a stock of weapons was found from the Bodhirajarmaya at Maligawatta, the temple of Ven. Uvatenne Sumana Thero, the religious advisor of the apolitical Common Candidate Gen. Sarath Fonseka.
This news was telecast by Rupavahini last night as a special news bulletin. The commander of STF B.E.M. Saratahchandra was connected live during the bulletin though he could not describe the incident properly. He was seen stammering several times and at the end of his ‘explanation’ he said there was an intention of the government to frame such a charge against Ven. Sumana Thero.
