Windows Vista Keygen a Hoax

The author of the Windows Vista keygen that was reported yesterday has admitted that the program does not actually work. Here is the followup post in which the same author acknowledges that the program is fake. Apparently, the keygen program does legitimately attack Windows Vista keys via brute force, but the chances of success are too low for this to be a practical method. Quote from the author: 'Everyone who said they got a key is probably lying or mistaken!'

fact is the brute force keygen is a joke, i never intended for it to work. I have never gotten it to work, everyone should stop using it!

It's not exactly a hoax. But the chances of finding a key is very remote.

If the program is not tweaked well, it will try to find a key of 36^25 possible keys. This will take months if you are lucky.

There are certain letters that are not included in the XP key, such as 5 and S, O and 0 because they can be easily mistaken. I don't know which are not there in the Vista keys, but there has to be few couple like that. This is will reduce the max number of possible keys dramatically. There are other tweaks as well, such as we don't find more than 3 similar digits in the row (or more than 2 - not sure). if these are incorporated to a the script, it will do wonders.

The thing is, it takes a long time to actually install a key. It takes about 8 to 10 seconds to install a new key on my PC. To you can only install 400 odd keys in an hour. This is out of around 20^25 or even more.

That's why this is not gonna work.

yeah u may b correct....

thatz what i say.....its abt the brute force keygen
I know this is about the Brute Force keygen.

He must be admitting that to avoid possible lawsuits. Because I don't see why this can't work. Chance are very remote. You are better off buying the original DVD because it could be cheaper than the electricity bill you have to pay for the PC alone for keeping it ON for finding a key. :)
