ya bro i got u r point....what i feel is if he knows he is on the verge of collapsing his city of Berlin.I expect him to be more serious. His generals r serious than ever.coz they know they all gonna die and what is eminent.

i think His ego didnt let him surrender or give up his power , he couldnt believe he was loosing his powers . he couldnt see the big picture cuz of his pretentiouness he didnt want to accept the truth . a cocky basterd you know

But instead i found director couldn't capable of producing the dark seriousness prevailing in the situation .But he made Hitler as a joker or some sort. That's what i felt.

The seriousness i mentioned here i found in "The pianist" even though its not relevant to Hitler

how you feel bro , i respect that
it obviously seemed awkward that his wife and faithfull ppl around him partying , drinking , enjoying something that actualy there wasnt or accept it as their fate or something ,, they didnt show it but let us feel it ..

saw 2001 A space odyssey and read the book right after that ..and now im simply stunned ..
even though the movie is an absolutely masterpiece after reading the book right after seeing it, it feels like that the movie left out a lot that was in the book..i know that's not a fair thing to say though....that was a great experience anyway I'm fucking stunned to my bones lol...anyway i agree with the cliched opinion, that kubrick was a genius.

Actually the reason for this is that the book was completed after the movie was made.
So concepts/plots that was left untouched in the movie got developed in the book. If you read the preface, you would've seen that Clerk had explained that situation.

actually the book i read was not very detailed itself its a 200page something sinhala translation which i had since like 98 and which i had read when i was like 8th grade..so preface don't say much :)

but right now im looking at some movie previews and trying to understand which is better..the movie does seem to leave it open to interpretations though... but i hadn't been this amazed by a movie since man from earth lol..

If its the Translation done by Banduseela, that part of the preface is there.

yeah first ape part in the book was much detailed but how it was portrayed in the movie actually went along with how the movie ended cos the movie wanted to keep it a bit obscure...in the book we know what that monolith is and all but in the movie it also can work as a symbol :)

im 22 lol how old are you?
