i totally agree man ..i did read while watching solaris ..and some stuff just blows your mind..you should add matrix to your list as well its a true mindfuck in the same leagues as in fight club i believe both movies share a similar idea while fight club is simply awesome ..the brilliance of it is, in no way that that movie provide you any direct clue as to what you should belive ..both the narrator and tyler are not the symbols of right or wrong they both are in two extremes both are evenly wrong..tyler is a hypocrite..see how he go against the system and form his own ..he make others call him sir and treat them as space monkeys, then he goes around telling that you are not unique and favor the angel face which in return apposed by narrator making his face kinda ugly ..i can talk here about that movie forever the given anti social theme is not that movie represents im telling you. .

I've seen most of movies you mentioned in the above list ..and the beauty of most of those are that they leave you open to your own conclusion those movies are truly insightful that's why i think without a doubt the cinema is the most profoundly influencial form of art...and when it comes to best of it i think 2001 a space odyssey simply owns all the rest..that movie brings the human evolution into a new level of representation ..

speaking of memento i don't think that there's any insight about human mind you can draw but it is a total mindfuck i will give it that..the first time i watched it ..when he deilberately distort his notes at the end of the movie and did the last narration i was blown away lol. as for mulholland dr ..ive been reading a shitload and gta see the movie again...and pls go watch the jap movie "audition" that will not disappoint that is one of best surreal movies ive seen that will have you thinking your brains off and symbolism in that movie dwarf even mulholland dr i guess...i had to watch that twice and read a lot in order to understand it fully..another similar movie is "jacobs ladder" which you probably have seen already but its not as good as audition.

and here are some other movies i saw that got me thinking for days...

Pi - this is the debut of darren arrofonsky or however that spelt...It's kinda similar to a beautiful mind it's about this guy who figure out a math equation soemthing that could explain nature ..this is by far his best movie along with most praised requiem for a dream. ..what made this movie even more wonderful to me is that, it is in terms with one of my favorite music albums which share same theme.. watch it.

following - debut of christopher nolan ..i don't think he ever topped this and memento.

crash is another great flick which i believe you have seen.

audition and jacobs ladder - i did talk about this above ..

man from earth - i saw this movie 3 times within a week this movie is magic ..fucks your mind right up.

martyrs - watch this one if you have a stomach for ultra violence which dominates first half of the movie then proceed to the second half which blows your mind into pieces..by the way it's french

irreversible - an italian flick which used very unique style of camera angel and story telling which goes cronologicall backward. keep your panadols with you this might give you a headache

ill mention if i remembered more lol those were off top of my head

and sory for the looong post.
