Well 'if so' then the 'minority' of them should be prosecuted just like any one else ! Islam isnt partial in punishment ! And the point here is to elaborate that the action of the few do not reflect on the religion !

Actually its in your book, Kill the infidels, They were following the nobel words i guess :P

Like i said Saudi arabia is not the model muslim society ! Far from it ! Royals are immune to the law and live a completely different luxurious life from the locals. During the Prophets time there were churches and synogogues ! Even during Salahuddeen ayyubis time (if you watched kingdom of heaven) When jerusalem was in the control of muslims , everyone wass allowed to practice the religion !

Rele?? :eek: කන්න හිතුනම කබරයා තලගොයා වෙනවා :lol::shocked:

you are right.....but its not searching out violence...to only use it as self defense...and suicide attacks are a BIG no no....

but like i said give some lee way and ppl like Osama bin laden can twist around words and rise....

look dudes....just like the Japanese....the native Indians etc...the Arabs are brought up in a culture of honor and justice that is weird...

they are some ideals that even we Moderate Muslims find kinda weird...that is why we say their violence is a cultural thing....driven by cultural and social values rather than religion....:nerd:

Majority of Muslims are religious normal people.....don't look at the red neck Muslims and generalize the whole people or the religion.....

I agree on what you say about people doesn't choose to be violent, well at least not the overwhelming majority!

But religion is something that is also called faith, its hard wired into you since the day you were born, it has a big part in people's deeds, when you allow that bit.. license to kill from the faith.. people will misuse it..

There's violent people from all walks of life... belong to all religions.. in Islam though you can justify it through the holy book.. In Buddhism you cannot... A BIG DIFFERENCE!

Let me tell you what exactly the issue here.. your conscious knows that violence of any form in a religion is so wrong.. but alas as much as you want Quran to be that... ITS NOT!

We had this discussion before about what Quran means and what it implies... blah blah blah.. the bottom line is when Islam comes under threat Muslims are allowed to do whatever it takes to protect it.. includes violence if necessary... once its permitted in the holy book itself any ordinary man's prejudice is justified...

And that's exactly why there are people like Bin Laden!

good question !! you better come and ask the answer from Dr.Zakir ..

There iare no 'versions' of it to suite the likings of the people ! There is only 1 Quran and its message is clear and to be read in context ! If you accept it fine , and if not also fine! but misquoting, misinterpreting and eventually trying to portray it in biased light, not fine !

That's exactly what I'm saying... no ones misinterpreting anything in Quran... its just there as clear as you like!

BOTTOMLINE:

Allah will punish you.. Allah knows and uses violence if he has to... he will skin you alive on judgment day if its needed!!

No matter under what circumstances.. THIS IS VIOLENCE!

And I too only got this to say to you, If you accept that its violence.. then its fine... if not you can keep telling yourself its not... but you can't lie to your conscious which keeps telling you that's wrong!

lol...if the book only said kill the infidels...all you infidels would be dead right now....

coz we Muslims follow our God's words to the letter.....

majority of the talk about killing infidels are about specific situations that arose during the time of the "revelation" or time that God sent down the particular verse to man....

look dude...you really have to read the Quran in full context...instead of pulling custom pulled verses from the Quran by people who want to undermine Islam....

we Muslims are human too....we would not follow a religion if we thought it was bloody as YOU think it is....:lol:

yes it is violent...but its between you and the God you may or may not have betrayed....:oo:

if you created something...gave it everything to live with...loved it to its very end...only to see it mock and ridicule you...of course you would be pissed....if you factor in the fact humans are capable of mocking worse...its no wonder God wants to skin non-believers alive....

its also a form of warning....like a road sign that shows a bump ahead....it doesn't matter what you wish that bump is there....you can follow the rules and go slow....and avoid damage...or you can drive like an idiot and get banged up....who's fault is it?.....your fault or the bump's...?...:lol:

and my conscious is clean....coz i know the Quran....and i read it with the message it gives....its not what you think it is....i will try to explain but if you refuce to believe it its your fault...doesn't change the truth i know and accept.....

the identity of a country is its people.....not its govt....ore religion....not majority...the people who live in it...and how they treat each other....

to me that is a country.....and in that sense....to me my country is the best...so i will defend its honor...with everything i got....even if it kicks out Dr.Zakir Naik.....:lol:

Saying that SL has a Buddhist identity, did I mean that non-Buddhists are not Sri Lankans? (Except practisng Muslims because Nationality is haraam for them)

who said nationality is haraam (not allowed by Islamic law) for us....:lol:

    God > parents > Family(friends) > Country + law......believe it or not is Islam's priority...:lol::lol:

  • 1) The Cambodian killing fields were red in blood, not because the Khemers were docile Buddhists.
    2) The violent perpetuated in Buddhist Vietnam between rivals (US as well as Vietnamese) was more violent than any we have seen in recent times.
    3) Where was Mahayana Buddhism during the Sun Yet Sun and Maoist civil war?
    4) Where was Buddhist “ahimsa” (non-violence) during the Cultural Revolution?
    5) Why was Buddhist-Taoist philosophy unable to “to fill the poor with greater optimism about their lot” during the Japanese invasion of Korea?
    6) Why was Buddhist philosophy in hiding during the rape of Nanking by Buddhist (Japanese) soldiers?
    7) Why was the “enlightenment” absent during the abduction of 300,000 Korean women by Buddhist (Japanese) soldiers in Korea?
    8) Why doesn’t Mahayana Buddhist-Taoist philosophy stop the genocide of Ughurs?
    9) The human rights records of Laos, and Burma are not written in gold in the history books of tolerance and enlightenment.
    10) ) The Thai massacres of Muslims in Thailand should not be a reason to criticize all Buddhists!

but we all know all ds occured mainly coz of politics, so why blame Budhism? so Islam is not a monopoly of terrorism.....EVERY COMMUNITY HAS ITS BLACK SHEEPS.
Now the big, fat, bold question is, did any of this invaders put sword to the necks of the captured and asked them to convert to Buddhism, and then defended it using Tipitaka?

yes it is violent...but its between you and the God you may or may not have betrayed....:oo:

So we have no argument on that! Good!

if you created something...gave it everything to live with...loved it to its very end...only to see it mock and ridicule you...of course you would be pissed....if you factor in the fact humans are capable of mocking worse...its no wonder God wants to skin non-believers alive....

Well sadly GOD doesn't have to go through all this had he create all of us to behave in such a manner that we could never betray him.. if the creation is faulty.. the creator is faulty!!

He give the freedom to humans to think free and when they do and not choose him... he punishes! That's so lame..

Then why create human with freedom to think/reason anyway?
