1. Two weeks ago I made a SL ebay account and SL Paypal account. And started buying (I used a HNB card)
2. After spending around $80 dollars the paypal account got limited.
3. Then I made a Malaysian paypal account and link that to new ebay account( not the previous one, a new one ) with intension of selling things.
4. My first one selling windows copies, for $15, after two sale my listing was removed saying a policy violation.
5. Then I started selling the items in my field. I’m statistician /a financial analyst.
6. Which I had a moderate demand as you guys saw.
7. After earning $300(approximately) I linked my old ebay account also.
8. Then after I made my first sale with old ebay account my paypal account got limited.
9. They wanted address proof and photo id.
10. I talked with one fellow who agreed to try to help me.
11. Both my ebay accounts were SL accounts, and my new paypal account(malay one) for that also I gave my SL address
Ex: It reads as
No xx, Blabla road, town – 11500, Sri Lanaka, Malaysia
He because of this he was not sure what will happen, but agreed to help(nice guy), but he needed 2-3 days
While he was doing his work, I called paypal and asked their opinion.
Here’s what they said;
It’s not illegal to make a paypal account for a country in which you’re not living in. I’m SL and its totally ok for me to make a Malay account.
I need to send my Passport/Driver’s license as photo Id proof
And a utility bill to verify my ebay address. { I send my SL water bill and SLT landline bill)
And after I send it to them, I called again and said I send them and asked the call taker to check them.
He asked me questions about them to make some points clear. And said ok he’ll lift the limit, but I need to show 4 customer feedbacks.
I waited for a week for my buyer to leave feedback, and two of required persons did leave feedback.
After a week I called again and explained my customers are new to ebay(they were actually-some bought form me for the first time) and they might not give feedback. Call taker asked for my ebay account Id’s and said she would check them and send me an email.
After 30 min I got an email saying that my account has being lifted and fully verified.
And now I have 2 active ebay accounts and verified paypal account.
Paypal has the best customer care I have ever seen, very friendly and helpful.
If your account got limited call them( from slt its around 18/per min) and ask them what to do.
IF you call them, they know that you have the real need and that you are honest, most probably if you give them what they need you’ll get the limit lifted in less than a week.
