no that movie isn't about catholism ..It's simply about faith in any form...faith which even buddhism might require. that movie doesn't need any back ground knowledge in religions.

also watch 2001 a space odyssey ...those just leave you thinking and thinking about life and its meaning

No matter how correct the fact they bring up in the film controversial views upon the descended teachings such as religion should always encourage and praised unless they arent plain stupid or silly

If theres anymore movies just like this which related or much better criticize Buddhism I'll more than happy to try out
