probably ur south bridge chipset got some problem, the another sollution, if the device manager shows the usb roots then uninstall it and restart the PC< when u get back to desktop, system will reinstall the drivers, and still didnt work, better go to sales store u bought the system, and try...- peacelk

you have to update your chipset drivers, and u have to install the supplement for the usb drivers of XP, some xp version not working pedicular motherboard manufacture if i find the usb supplement file, i will give you the link or file.
