Iran state media touts end of Project Freedom, saying US failed to "achieve its objectives"

Iran touted the “US failure to achieve its objectives in the so-called ‘Freedom Project’” in a statement on INSA, a state-run media outlet, following President Donald Trump’s announcement he was pausing the effort.
The INSA statement said Trump called off the operation “following firm positions and warnings from Iran.”
In his announcement about suspending Project Freedom, Trump cited progress in diplomatic talks as a reason for pausing the program, which aimed to use US military assets to help guide commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump wants deal with Iran before China visit
Trump’s deadlines tend to be elastic.Often, he’s said we would get something in a couple of weeks, and after those couple of weeks, it would still be going on. Remember the war was due to last four to six weeks, and here we are, well beyond that.
He has made threats before. He threatened to destroy an entire civilisation. On Monday, he threatened to bomb Iran off the face of the earth.
But it seems that things are moving. He’s now put a halt to Project Freedom, which was giving ships the right to navigate through the Strait of Hormuz by the US providing guidance, and also monitoring by the navy. He’s suspended that for the time being. He’s talked about ending the blockade, but that will only come when there is an agreement.
Trump has been given the options of a military operation in Iran. He’s been told where they could target, how intense it could be, how quickly it could be done. But he also wants to get this wrapped up before he heads to China. He wants to be able to claim a victory when he meets President Xi. That trip is next Wednesday, so he has perhaps a deadline in his head, although nothing that has been made public.
