We also went to a real Masai village (not a tourist showpiece), while on our way to somewhere else, our guide was a bit hesitant at first but he eventually took us. He talked to the head of that little village and he agreed to let us in. He didn't bargain for money but we did give him money and all the food we had in hand, biscuits, chocolates and sweets etc to the village kids.They pierce a cow's vein and drain blood and mix with milk. Claims that gives them strength and courage. Also told us it is good next morning - after heavy drinking, apparently hangover disappears.Masai life expectancy is low, probably the high fat content they eat.Africa is an interesting place. We were lucky enough to witness the animal migration (in September). It is a fabulous spectacle. Visited Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. After a visit to these countries, you will not go anywhere again to watch animals ;-( Africa is worth a visit for a different kind of experience.</blockquote>
