You don't need to completely destroy the aircraft to make it un- flyable. Modern aircrafts depend on so much sensors and too much depend on electronics. Y ou can see they destroyed most of the dashboard. Which you can't get without government green light. Plus if you check the footage on various media , you can see they drilled holes strategically to make air frame weak. Once weakened you simply cat fly the aircraft other than scrapping it. I used to work at Lufthansa technik aircraft maintenance and we used to do the same to old aircraft parts to make sure they are useless and definitely going to scrap yard as metal.</blockquote>
