We have become a nation of exporting 21 century slaves to Gulf  We Srilankans r known for risking lives in pursuing for better living standardsHistorical mistake tht we did was booting  foreign direct investors likes of Bp,Shell  etc in 60's who were directly involved in de booming maritime market back then n anti American statements n then government policy was to keep Americans away those facts kept us away from de booming maritime market Singapore snatched de opportunity n became wht is today UAE to cash in n civil war n youth uprising in 80s limited our opportunities to blossom n utilize our geographical position as a country. .Now de maritime industry is down n our country is stable n government is begging  for foreign direct investors in de caliber of Bp to invest here....As a country we should cash in de next maritime boom which is forecast to be in next 05 yrs time ...Anti american or Chinese statements n action will again hinder our progress as a country</blockquote>
