A medical professional needs to be in touch with current developments and practices. In other countries there's a compulsory component of "Continuing Education" needed to extend the validity of your registration. You need to attend CPD courses and collect points for this. At least if you don't read and improve your knowledge - which unfortunately isn't published in Sinhalese - you are virtually lost. You cannot continue to practice only from what you learned from the standard textbooks. Was Covid-19 in the textbook?Do we do any proper research or education other than the occasional seminars organised by a few professional bodies in SL?</blockquote>
