The name came after late D.M Rajapaksa, the MP for Hambantota.  He was the initiator of Rajapaksa political dynasty. It was the only  school in Hambantota district which provided AL in science until late  70. It is a very good school which has provided world class academics.  It  is true that under present government, the school developed  significantly with marvelous facilities and excellent teachers which  attracts bright students in the area.  So please appreciate the acheavements of these two kids. They attend our tution classes. At every month  tests also they are at the top level..... Rusiru is a student who attend  olympiad representing srilanka and won awards......... both of them are  really bright students...........
