The main reason coke is a problem for our health is the high sugar content, gmo sugarbeet in many cases and that’s not all. Coke keeps their ingredients a mystery so we never exactly know what’s in there. What we do know is Coca cola contains GMOs and Phosphoric Acid. Milk contains a protein called Casein and if you mix them together the proteins bind and it curdles. Having anything curdle in your stomach isn’t good. You may drink a coffee and soon after a coke and this could be happening in your stomach. Coca Cola was originally developed and sold as a thick cough syrup type of medication and it’s true that it contained cocaine. It was used to treat headaches, coughs and more. It was created by a pharmacist named John Pemberton. Low doses of cocaine were proven to be effective in treating a variety of symptoms. Back in the day a glass of Coca-Cola used to contain an estimated nine milligrams of cocaine, but in 1903 it was removed. After 1904, Coca-Cola started using, instead of fresh leaves, “spent” leaves. To this day, Coca-Cola uses as an ingredient called a “non-narcotic coca leaf extract” and it’s prepared at a plant in Maywood, New Jersey owned by the Stepan Company. In the United States, the Stepan Company is the only plant authorized by the Federal Government to import and process the coca plant.
