The human versions were known since 1960... possibly due to a spillover event which is cross-species transmission.About 10% to 15% of common cold infections today are caused by four corona viruses, namely 229E, OC43, NL63 and HKU1.Then came the deadlier strains of these..... SARS in 2002, MERS in 2012, and finally The Covid-19.  Covid-19 is just a mild disease with only 5.2 Million dead so far (excluding the million deaths in China)Sadly these people passed away simply because they didn't have access to the Paniya or just a Chinese flag - if waved enough times would ward off the virus - a simple remedy.</blockquote>
