When I was in the O-Level class (2017), authorities measured the air pollution in the city and made a report about the places with the most air pollution in Kandy. Air pollution exists only in a few places where there is a lot of traffic in the city. But the people have a deep-rooted opinion that Kandy is a completely air-polluted city. None of them know that Kandy is the only major city located near a forest reserve. (Udawatta Forest Reserve) And that makes Kandy city one of the greenest cities in Sri Lanka. Therefore, if taken as a whole, Kandy city is free from air pollution than most other cities.</blockquote>
