Most of them don't abandon their kids as they are becoming of age. Most even compromise their peace and happiness to give their children a better future. Parents in Sri Lanka are truly concerned about their daughters being friends with drunks and vagabonds while parents in west gratify their children for finding spouses and have sex prematurely. What do you want our society to become ? A one like in US where sex is sanctified and education is demonized ? Where parents care more about whether their children have found a mate to have sex with than their grades ? Where parents blame teachers for their children's bad performance ? Sri Lankan parents aren't emotionally weak. They just care more about their children's future than people from where you live. The ones who neglect their children for few glasses of liquor are the emotionally weaker ones. Stop measuring Sri Lankans weaknesses in western standards.</blockquote>
