That period ended on July 18, and we have readjusted to the actual prices.” Usually, CPC revises its prices on the fifth day of every month.The NSO is due to submit its fourth-quarter tariff revision to the regulator, Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), for approval on September 4, 2026. Pradeep Perera, NSO Chairman, said the fuel price increases will have an impact.“The government had given a subsidy which ran out,” he told the Sunday Times. “We are preparing the tariff for the October-December quarter, and we obviously have to take this into account. When the price goes up, the cost goes up. Thereafter, the PUCSL has to decide how to adjust the tariff to recover the cost.”The Sunday Times reported last week that the government is considering reintroducing the fuel subsidy for petrol and diesel as world market oil prices continue to rise in the wake of renewed conflict in the Gulf region.
