We mismanaged the Economy for  a long period .See our wasteful work - Mattala, Lotus Tower, Hambantota Harbour, and many more unviable and less or no retrun on capital projects Corruption- massive corruptions like request of 23 new Airbus and subsequent cancellation and amout we paid to cancell that(Airbus later admitted bribing SriLankan Airline to get the deal in UK High Court action by UK Serious Fraud Office prosectuion- but what did we do. instead of obtaining that evidence for prosecution just arrested then Chairman and his wife and no action filed for years!!) there are more examples.This situation is systemic mismanagement and this was made worse by GR in 2019 and Viyathmaga who shun IMF and repeatedly said we do not need IMF(It was created when there are balance of payment issues ).</blockquote>
