(singaporians dont use old cars btw) you cant compare singapore with sri lanka. their public transport system is excellent and they got air conditioned mrt trains all over the city. their train stations have escalators and automatic ticket issuing machines. a person willing to use private transportation in singapore should be a person who ignores all of these good public transport facilities. i assume singapore have a good reason to put high tax on private vehicles. our country put high tax on vehicles to milk as much as they can from car owners. there should be a limit in everything. you cant milk more than the limit without a proper reason. apart from trying to grab money from high vehicle tax what other projects sri lanka is doing to make revenue ? sending women to the middle east ? a car is still a luxury vehicle in sri lanka and not everyone can own car in sri lanka. our public transport is crap and the we got a good reason to select private transportation over public transportation.</blockquote>
