Kepler 186 is stabler than average, given its characteristics, which tends to put its age at the older end of the spectrum for M-dwarves - between 2 and 12 BY. Chances are therefore that it's several BY older than our sun. This in turn implies that any civilisations arising would likely be much more developed than our own.</p><p>3. Upcoming surveys will show us whether it has an atmosphere and if so, its composition. Wait about 3 years for that. We live in exciting times.</p></blockquote><p></p>
