It was shown live and Taliban announced the time that it would be blown.I saw it when it happened . This was a statute that was worshiped for generations not like Salawa one just build recently. Explosives cannot make a difference to religious place and other. Even Lord Buddha gave a very low place to worshiping of icons as opposed to the doctrine of the Buddhism. That is what should be spread and observed. Buddhism has a path to bliss of nibbana which is unique.We should not be carried away with this kind of things even if this is true, the real buddhism lies with the Dhamma not in the shrine room.</blockquote>
