He was given a warm welcome by the people in Jaffna with thousands of people gathered on the roadsides to cheer him.The President on his way from Naga Viharaya to Nallur Kandasamy Kovil met the people on foot and spoke to them cordially. Many people thanked President Rajapaksa for liberating them from the clutches of terrorism. The President also met Jaffna Bishop at the Bishop house.</blockquote>
