Foreign Ministry, British HC Say Document On 'Royal Greeting Etiquette' A Parody: Urge Public Not To Get Hoodwinked February 01, 2018 0 font size Foreign Ministry, British HC Say Document On 'Royal Greeting Etiquette' A Parody: Urge Public Not To Get Hoodwinked The Foreign Ministry sources confirmed that the document circulating on Facebook and Twitter outlining 'welcoming etiquette' of British royals was a parody. "There is no such committee and there is no such document. No person by the name of D.F.M de Mel has been asked to issue such a document. It is all false," an authoritative spokesman of the Foreign Ministry said. "It is aimed at making our public the laughing stock of the world. Don't fall prey to that," he added. "There is no such ordinance on etiquette. There are customs and traditions. But they too have undergone changes with the passage of time," the spokesman said. He said the public should be more vigilant and should not believe everything that appears online. "Is it so hard for an educated society to figure this out?" he asked. "There is no office, no address, no telephone number. But, we are ready to believe anything written on a white paper." The British High Commission sources also confirmed the Foreign Ministry Spokesman's statement. The document, which went viral on Facebook today, listed 18 rules that should be followed when greeting British royals. It also warned that legal action would be taken against those who do not follow the 'Royal greeting etiquette.'
