I am told it’s one of the most gay friendly cities in the world. There is a huge gay pride parade each year. I see guys (and female couples, though fewer) on the street walking along holding hands, and kissing as well, and there are also quite a few same sex couples pushing baby carriages. There was an interview in the paper a while ago with children of same sex couples, and the consensus was that they had no more difficulties and often less than any other children.In other parts of the country I gather it’s also OK - Jerusalem, and this year conservative Beer Sheva too, have gay pride parades. The main problem is for the ultra- Orthodox Jews, who have inner conflicts about their sexual identity because it’s forbidden in the Bible, and for the same reason are afraid their society will know about it. But recently that has begun to be dealt with to some extent, with support groups and such.</blockquote>
