This was the objection of the GMOA as well as Medical Students. But JVP (Champika Ranawaka the then convenor of Inter Uni Student Federation)and others wanted to Nationalize it . They met Mrs B who was a candidate for the Presidency n 1989 and she readily included that in her manifesto. So, it was also pledged by Mr . Premadasa and he did it !</p></blockquote><p></p>
