No one raised a voice(thanks to all the trade unions). First it was announced that this loan scheme would be available thought banks instead of the relevant departments. Earlier it was the relevant dept that disbursed it. So foolish govt officers thought that Banks would give them loans at 4%. Keep in mind this is clearly compete with their existed loans for housing and other... So the Banks discouraged and very lethargically disbursed these loans for about 1-2 years and said that treasury has not reimbursed the loans for them to continue. So that was the end of generations of 5year loan to public servants!Lot of children of public servants had a house of their own due to this loan, but this is how MR treated Public Servants with the help of Treasury secretary P.B. Jayasundara and other Trade Unions.So, now there is no 5 year loan available even from banks.</blockquote>
