People could have been malnourished. But death by starvation is kinda impossible given the food availability in sri lanka. There are many alternatives like maniok, jack fruit. And the culture generally helps people in need. Highly doubt some one died due to starvation here.  Just interested to see the source for your claim.</p></blockquote><p></p>
