This was prior to resurgence of JVP in July 1987 with Indo Lanka Peace Accord. So it got boost from the situation. In fact two cassete pack came in to being during height of Jvp. But almost all the songs were not aired by SLBC . There were other songs of her that were not aired by SLBC . Even Yathra album had 4-5 songs that were not sanctioned to air by SLBC and they were marked by a cross in printed material , but that does not apply to private parties to play or use in functions. There were such songs in Sathyaye Geethaya etc. It was not a ban but restriction on airing such songs by SLBC which was the only Sinhala service during that time!In fact it was JVP who banned all forms of entertainment including all music shows,  other than Pawana at that time! I watched this at a popular and new venue at the height of JVP and it was organized by a union of government servants. Two cassette pack was sold at Rs 120 at the gate of this venue.At that time no sinhala CDs were not produced. There was no issue as to listening these songs as I could hear them from houses. I too listened from cassettes but later bought 2 CD very much later but now only one remaining and do not know the quality of that too.As far as I know, neither she nor Dr. Ariyarathna went to India at that time due to any fear. She used to bring her child to school at Nugegoda and Dr Ariyaratna also used to come there during that time. So it is a lie to say that they left, due to fear. Her concert got a boost from JVP insurrection and it was a very successful musical show, at that time. I listened to it also at the height of fear and in fact it was my first musical show in life! and memorable night.I liked these songs as a youth before entering Uni but not there after as student movement there gave me  a true picture of politics including JVP . So I do not like them now other than their music value , which is ?</blockquote>
