Message: <blockquote data-quote="rclakmal" data-source="post: 10671011" data-attributes="member: 98858">Usually I never comment in these kind of arguments .But when I saw this post I coudn't stop myself .The above post is only 2-3 lines ,but it clearly shows his desperation ,that he coudn't get in to a SL university and still thinking about it as one of the main failures in his life .Bro just a friendly advice ,Change your attitudes .All your post shows that you are hating the Sri Lankan education system.AFAICS the only reason could be that you failed to get into that system.Otherwise how can someone hate something which he didnt experince at all .<img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/oo.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":oo:" title="Oo    :oo:" data-shortname=":oo:" />And as you mentioned earlier if you have obtained these good "foriegn" degrees already -->Well Done!<img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/happy.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":)" title="Happy    :)" data-shortname=":)" /> We are happy to see that sri lankans have triumphed in other education systems as well.So Be happy .Dont understimate yourself.And all the brothers and sisters out there ,just don't worry about the quality of the Sri lankan higher education system .Most of the degrees are well renowned in the whole world .<img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/happy.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":)" title="Happy    :)" data-shortname=":)" />And about the main discussion ,I'm also from one of the main universities in Sri Lanka and currenly doing an internship in Germany.I could clearly see the difference between the facilities of our professors and professors here.It is true that there aren't much research going on in our universities at the moment .The main reason is the lack of resources.And if you take these world rankings of universities(etc webometrics) they mainly consider about the research reputation and the number of foriegn students in a particular university when they create rankings.So unfortunately these criterias make our universities go down in the rankings although our teaching methods and educational environments are pretty good .So goverment should take some immediate actions to keep these professors inside the universities by giving them a good package of facilities and should spend some money on creating some research environments.I always appreciate the effort lectures put in our education.As a good example if you take my study field ,if these Professors and Doctors go out in the industry and work,they will definitely get a double salary.( In my department it is necessary that you hold a first class degree to become a lecturer.So these are not "jobless" people.We should always remember that).Lets hope for the best brothers and sisters.</blockquote>
