Message: <blockquote data-quote="ek_rosh" data-source="post: 31542966" data-attributes="member: 507164">I think i have answered this many times....anywaysyou are missing one crucial point here... this music was written for regular people, not for musicians..also, in the sheet music itself  each note already comes with instructions explaining exactly how it should be interpreted within itself in the context. as long as someone follows the explanations within the context, they can understand it correctly through knowledge.but the moment they start interpreting the notes through their own experience (as many do), mathematics, history, personal biases, past or whatever they are no longer reading the music,  they are reading their own mind into the music.this is the interesting part.. sure, the actual music experience always surpasses knowledge...BUT you have to ask: what exactly are you experiencing?remember, the composer wrote the original music 2500 yrs ago..today, you are surrounded by 100s of different performances, each claiming to be the true original..sure...each performance will give you feelings, vibrations, emotions, chest thumping resonance....BUT, NONE OF THAT  tells you whether the music you are hearing is actually the original composition..for each performer, THEIR VERSION feels authentic. for each listener, theri experience feels real. but that doesnt guarantee it is the real original music...this is where the sheet music (the knowledge) becomes essential... not to give you the music experience..not to replace the live symphony. BUT to help you identify which performance is closest to the original.without the sheet music.. you could spend your entire life listening to someones personal remix, believing it is the authentic composition. you would enjoy it, you wud feel it, but you wud never know you were experiencing a distortion..this sheet music helps you you  protect from mistaking someones personal remix for the true original...</blockquote>
