Episode 9 always has the  biggest battles and the most heartbreaking deaths: Ned Stark’s beheading  in Season 1; The Battle of the Blackwater in Season 2; the Red Wedding  in Season 3; the deaths of Ygritte, Grenn and Pyp in Season 4; and  Shireen’s horrific death last season. Now Season 6 has reached the same  milestone and these promo photos for “Battle of the Bastards” promise  the best Game of Thrones episode yet. The ninth episode of Season 6 of Game of Thrones will see the Starks.. <img their ancestral home Winterfell from the Boltons. <img src="http://i2.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-02.jpg?resize=700%2C466" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> It’s the Battle of the Bastards and it’s the biggest battle Game of Thrones has ever done. <img src="http://i2.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-03.jpg?resize=700%2C394" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Jon Snow leads an army of wildlings and the remaining loyal Stark bannermen. <img src="http://i0.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-04.jpg?resize=700%2C1052" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Davos Seaworth and Tormund Giantsbane will lead their men into the thick of battle. <img src="http://i0.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-05.jpg?resize=700%2C466" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Davos looks resolute despite being “not much of a fighter.” <img src="http://i1.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-06.jpg?resize=700%2C466" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> While Tormund just looks fierce AF. <img src="http://i0.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-07.jpg?resize=700%2C466" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Impressively fierce. <img src="http://i1.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-08.jpg?resize=700%2C742" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Oh and they have Wun Wun the last giant to lead the charge. <img src="http://i2.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-09.jpg?resize=700%2C394" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> On the other side, Ramsay Bolton commands a much bigger army, with Harald Karstark as his second. <img src="http://i0.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-10.jpg?resize=700%2C1052" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Smalljon Umber adds his House’s men, and they outnumber the opposing army perhaps 5 to 1. <img src="http://i1.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-11.jpg?resize=700%2C466" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> So despite the Starks having a giant on their side.. <img src="http://i1.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-12.jpg?resize=700%2C394" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> It’s hard to imagine how they can defeat the Boltons’ greater numbers. <img src="http://i2.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-13.jpg?resize=700%2C394" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Especially when they’re this disciplined. <img src="http://i0.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-14.jpg?resize=700%2C394" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> We also see glimpses of the eve before the battle, such as this heated exchange between Sansa and Jon.. <img src="http://i1.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-15.jpg?resize=700%2C394" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> <img src="http://i1.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-16.jpg?resize=700%2C394" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Jon telling Melisandre not to bring him back if he falls.. <img src="http://i1.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-17.jpg?resize=700%2C394" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> And Davos finding Shireen’s pyre. <img src="http://i0.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-18.jpg?resize=1060%2C596" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> The people not shown in these promo photos is just as interesting. <img src="http://i2.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-22.jpg?resize=700%2C1052" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> No Rickon or Lyanna Mormont – it makes you nervous to wonder what’s gonna happen to them. <img src="http://i2.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-20.jpg?resize=700%2C1052" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Also, the entire episode seems to only feature the battle; nothing about characters in other locations are shown. <img src="http://i0.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-19.jpg?resize=700%2C1052" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> Now, are you ready for the oncoming spectacle of the Battle of the Bastards? <img src="http://i1.wp.com/www.viralshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/preview-photos-battle-of-the-bastards-21.jpg?resize=700%2C394"
