In addition to this, the contest also aims to recognize Sri Lankan web developers, improve the quality of Sri Lankan websites and promote .lk domains while increasing public awareness of local websites, especially in Sinhala and Tamil.All private and public sector organisations that have a local presence and possess a .lk web site (E.g. <a href="http://www.lakapps.lk/" target="_blank">www.lakapps.lk</a>), are eligible to enter the competition for the “Most Favourite Sri Lankan Website Award”. The competition will be held in all three categories of Sinhala, Tamil and English websites and the winners will be awarded from each category on the number of votes received. In addition to these main three winners from each category, the following titles will also be awarded to nominees chosen on the decision by a panel of judges: Best Content Developer, Best government website, Best e-commerce website, Best web design, Best entertainment website and Best personal website. The competition will be held in two main phases: Nomination and Voting. The nomination phase is on from 01st of October, 2009 and will continue till the 14th of October, which will be followed by the voting period from 16th October to November 11th.
