Throughout the last two series against Pakistan  and India, Sri Lanka’s cricketers were seen driving to the venue - even  on match days - in their luxury vehicles behind the team bus. When this was brought to the notice of a Sri Lanka Cricket official yesterday, he admitted that the situation had ‘got out of hand’ and needs to be addressed soon.  Sunday Island can confirm that for games in outstations the team bus  had travelled - at times more than hundred kilometers - empty. However,  the security detail attached to the team bus hadn’t changed. Sri  Lanka’s cricketers and the team bus are guarded by highly trained  Special Task Force (STF) personal with additional support from  Ministerial Security Division (MSD). "It certainly looks odd and I  feel sorry for the highly skilled security people who are protecting  the team bus. They are in fact guarding an empty bus and our cricketers  have insulted the professionalism of these people who are providing  security for them," a top SLC official told Sunday Island yesterday.  While players coming to venues on match days on their own has raised  serious questions about the team spirit, the players may have also  breached ICC Anti Corruption protocol. SLC officials have  promised to address the issue urgently. However, they missed out on an  opportunity to tackle the issue six weeks ago when two young players  were found breaching team rules. During the second T-20  International against Pakistan on August 1st , when President  Maithripala Sirisena visited the ground, all-rounder Thisara Perera  (white SUV Toyata) and Kusal Perera (white BMW) had parked their  vehicles by the side of the entrance of the main pavilion in a no  parking area and had to be told to move their vehicles.</blockquote>
