ඔන්න ෂේක් ලියුමක් එවල තිබුන.. :P Today marks an important date for Emirates, flydubai, and aviation in Dubai. I’m pleased to announce that Emirates and flydubai will embark on an innovative partnership that will benefit both airlines and consumers, and further develop Dubai’s position as a leading global aviation hub. This move brings together two independently successful Dubai-based airlines, with the aim of harnessing their unique strengths to deliver even better customer offerings, commercial results, and operational efficiency at our busy hub airport. This is not a merger, but a very close co-operation. Emirates and flydubai will remain separate business entities. This new partnership will unlock the immense value of our complementary models, benefiting consumers, both airlines and Dubai. Emirates and flydubai have existing interline agreements, but from the last quarter of 2017, both airlines will start to codeshare on many routes. This will be done in tandem with operational adjustments at Dubai International to reduce minimum connecting time (MCT) between both airlines and improve customer experience. Emirates today has a wide-body fleet of 258 aircraft, flying to 157 destinations. flydubai operates 58 New-Generation Boeing 737 aircraft to 95 destinations. The current combined network comprises 216 unique destination points. Together, we are working to optimise the networks and schedules of both airlines to open up new city-pair connections, offering consumers greater choice. Additionally, this will also help both airlines feed more traffic into each other’s complementary networks. We expect that by 2022, the combined network of Emirates and flydubai will reach 240 destinations, served by a combined fleet of over 380 aircraft. We have set up working groups to review the network planning, commercial, operations, frequent flyer programmes and customer journey aspects of this partnership. This is a significant and exciting step for both Emirates and flydubai. I’m confident this will fuel the continued growth of both airlines, as well as Dubai’s development as a hub for global aviation. We will keep you updated as we progress. In the meantime, I hope for your continued support and commitment in delivering the best products, services and business outcomes for our customers and stakeholders. .
