Rather than bearing the entire cost of education, the govt will only be spending on teacher salaries. This is already what's happening with semi-gov schools I think.IMO the 1982 education was a කොරහෙ කිඹුල්ලු saga. If passed and implemented would have generated both professionals and a good labour force for industries with minimal govt spending. This was really a very good plan considering that it was during the 1980's western companies started outsourcing their factories and other BPO type activities to Asia. Almost all other Asian countries got a chunk of their share in this trickle down from western economies.</blockquote>
