Fifteen years ago at the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo, 179 governments agreed an inspiring and visionary plan to give universal access to services and information to improve the sexual and reproductive health of everyone by 2015. 15andCounting is calling on governments to meet their commitments on sexual and reproductive health. 15andCounting will campaign to achieve better access to sexual and reproductive health services and education regardless of age, gender or where people live. 15andCounting seeks to highlight the specific needs of young people who will be most affected by the failure or success to deliver these services. 15andCounting aims to connect and partner with young people around the world to collectively advocate for change and share experiences. Why now? The ICPD Programme of Action aims to improve the health and wellbeing of all people regardless of when or where they were born. People born in 1994 at the time of the ICPD are now 15 years old and form part of the largest cohort of young people the world has ever seen – some 1.5 billion – who have a right to sexual and reproductive health services and information. Fifteen years after ICPD too many governments have failed to make good on their promises. This failure puts the lives and health of tens-of-millions of young people at risk. Only five years remain for the vision of ICPD to become reality, unless governments deliver on their promises young people will be denied services and information critical to their health and wellbeing. Play your part, for now and the future Sign the Count Me In petition that will be presented to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and help persuade governments to promote, protect and fulfil their promise to provide better access to sexual and reproductive health services for all young people What was the International Conference on population and Development? What is sexual and reproductive health/ What are reproductive health rights?Benefits of sexual and reproductive health rights/ why do we need sexual and reproductive health rights? Who we are 15andCounting is a campaign developed by the International Planned Parenthood Federation, a federation of non-governmental organizations working in 176 countries worldwide and a global leader in providing and advocating for the right to improved sexual and reproductive health. IPPF has a strategic focus on working with and delivering for young people. Our partners YSAFE Want to get more involved? If you would like to play a more active role in this campaign, get connected to groups in your country or region who are working towards improving sexual and reproductive health and rights, get in touch. If you would like more ideas on activities you can do in your country, or have guidance tools to help with your campaign work, get in touch for a copy of the 15andCounting for advocates. Hope you Guys Will sign UP with US http://www.15andcounting.org/petition.php
