It was stated that the A/L results will be delayed due to an issue regarding Z-scores. The General Secretary of the Association Joseph Starling said upon inquiring earlier about the release of results, the education authorities said there will be no delays. He added that officials attribute the delay to the examination being conducted in both new and old syllabi. Therefore he questioned why there should be an issue when the papers were made according to the new syllabus, and blamed it on the inefficiency of the authorities. Meanwhile, Attempts made by NewsRadio to contact the Commissioner of Examinations Anura Edirisinghe were futile. The Secretary to the Education Ministry H. M. Gunasekara said the results will be released within 3 weeks time.
