That is the general idea from outside who doesn't know about the flexibility of BSc degrees. But reality is, Science BSc is the 2nd option if you have not enough results to go to Engineering or Medicine. I am from the Science faculty. Almost all of my batch have good variety of jobs. My roommate is a Technical Manager in a famous washing plant. Myself , a chemical engineer. We achieved these goals within 3 years after graduation. we both had no special 4 year degrees. It would be easier if we had. If you performed great at BSc, completed it with a class, then no issues. Most of my batchmates are Software Engineers in Sri Lankan frontier IT companies, and some are Phd candidates with full scholarships from Aus USA. There are geologists too. few (4 or 5) lingembo here looking for a government job. Science BSc from Colombo Pera Japura valid in any country in the world. Easy to migrate if you want. My cousin did NDT instead of Physical Science. He is working in mobitel as a technical officer.Working at night. Walking all over colombo to fix signal towers. Taking risks. But for a low salary.3years now no benifits. No time to study further. Most important thing is, your attitude matters.
