It's one of the greatest spectacles on the Earth to watch. The mass migration & the river crossing. Mid September is the best time to see it from Masai Mara, Kenya. A few years ago we stayed at the Mara Sopa Lodge for four days, which is located inside the reserve, starting on the 14th September. We were really lucky and didn't miss out on anything. Plenty of Lions, Lion cubs, Cheetahs running alongside the Jeep - they are trying to catch Impalas and the Gazelles - but it's not really easy to catch them either. Impalas stay in a group and while grazing one of them watches the surroundings. They signal using sound and their wagging frequency of their tails and before the Cheetah arrives they are on the run. Cheetahs are beautiful to watch when they run. Once they miss the prey, they climb up to a high position on a rock and wait for another chance. Got fed up with lions... They always have many lionesses surrounding them and only good at sleeping and one other thing. :P It's the lioness that protects the cubs and trains them. There are many things to see in Africa. Lake Nakuru... Unbelievable - Hundreds of thousands of Flamingoss, but again the timing matters. After we travelled, several other friends went, but not in September and they never saw any Flamingos. Once you visit Kenya, do Zambia & Zimbabwe. The majestic Victoria Falls. You can see it from both sides Zambia & Zimbabwe. Just 40km away from Victoria Falls lies a small town named Kazungula. Four countries meet here just across a river, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia & Botswana. Ferry is available to cross to Botswana (now there should be bridge supposedly due to finish in 2021) Botswana is a rich country - Diamonds. The Okavango Delta is not to be missed here. It's a wildlife paradise both dry and wet - and where the first humans originated. Africa is a totally different experience at least once in a lifetime. Honesty you will not visit any other wildlife places, once you visit Africa.
