A presidential committee is appointed with the leadership of former Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva to probe the corruption and bribery of those put under house arrest. Namal's "Alpha Romeo" car is kept at Galle Face for public viewing prior to hand over to CTB.</p><p> </p><p>05.02.2010 – Parliament is dissolved. A caretaker government comprise of UNP, JVP, TNA, Muslim Congress and Ape Jathika Peramuna (Mangala), BJP (Mano) is appointed. Prime Minister of the caretaker government is Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe (leader of largest party in the alliance). A fresh parliamentary election is to be held on 20.03.2010.</p><p> </p><p>08.02.2010 - General Sarath Fonseka states that people have given him power to serve them and protect the country and therefore not to disappoint them he will serve the executive presidency for the full term of 6 years and as previously mentioned keep the ministries of Education, National security, Finance, Youth and Employment and health under him.</p><p> </p><p>09.02.2010 – High security zones in the north are cancelled with immediate effect as promised by President Sarath Fonseka to TNA and Tamil people are settled immediately. More than 14,000 LTTE suspects who have been retained in government detention centers are released immediately as per above promise. TNA appreciate president’s actions and urge the president to make a permanent solution to the ethnic problem based on combined North and East and considering it as historical Tamil territory.</p><p> </p><p>10.02.2010 – Parties are preparing for the forthcoming parliamentary elections. Since Mahinda (Former great King of Corruption) is under house arrest, Rathnasiri Wickramanayake is selected as UPFA Prime Minister Candidate. JVP, UNP, Mano, Mangala, Hakeem, TNA in policy talks and selecting Prime Minister Candidate.</p><p> </p><p>11.02.2010 – Thondaman and CWC decided to leave coalition with UPFA and to join with UNP and the alliance to “create a new Sri Lanka without corruption”.</p><p> </p><p>12.02.2010 – In another great blow to SLFP and to the strength of UNP, all UNP parliamentarians who previously crossed over to UPFA government rejoin the UNP for creating a country sans corruption. Among those came back “home” are Milinda Moragoda, Rohitha Bogollagama, Rajitha Senarathna, Jonston Fernando, Lakshman Yapa etc.</p><p> </p><p>15.02.2010 – UNP selects their PM candidate (Ranil Wickramasinghe – Mr. Clean). UNP agrees with TNA conditions that a permanent solution based on Federal System promised by Ranil in 2004 Presidential Election shall be given to the ethnic problem. The solution is to be also based on combined North and East and considering it as historical Tamil territory. Hakeem agrees with the same with a minor amendment that a separate area council shall be formed combining Muslim areas in East with some autonomy. Mangala and Mano appreciate the agreement. The economic policy of the UNP+TNA+Mano+Mangala+Hakeem is agreed as the capitalistic open economy based on free market. The economic policies are written by Mr. Ravi Karunanayake.</p><p> </p><p>16.02.2010 – JVP disagree with the economic policies and the solution for ethnic problem adopted by the new alliance and vow to defeat the new alliance with the support of the executive president they brought to power by pasting posters and working 24 hours.</p><p> </p><p>17.02.2010 – JVP conducts an urgent meeting with Executive President Sarath Fonseka on the policies of new alliance that supports the president. In the meeting President requests JVP to compromise their policies for the better future of the country and emphasized that he has to (though reluctantly) agree with the opinion of the majority on the alliance (i.e. UNP, TNA, Mano, Mangala, and Hakeem).</p><p> </p><p>18.02.2010 – JVP conduct a massive picketing at Lipton Roundabout and shouts slogans that they will defeat both the new alliance lead by Ranil Wickramasinghe and the executive president (Not Mahinda who is under house arrest, but General Sarath Fonseka). Riot police (ordered by the Minister of National security – President Fonseka) batten charge and disperse with rubber bullets and tear gasses.</p><p> </p><p>20.03.2010 – The parliament election is today. Further the government is seriously considering power decentralization beyond 13th amendment or even a federal system.</p><p> </p><p>27.10.2010 – Norway has sent its special envoy to conduct discussions with the government of SL about a solution for the ethnic problem based on federal system. Previously appointed co chairs ( Japan , UK , etc.) and USA approves and appreciate Norway ’s role in finding a long lasting solution to ethnic problem is Sri Lanka . Jointly they promise Billions of Dollars for the reconstruction and Development of North and East.</p><p> </p><p>28.03.2010 – Norway special envoy meets Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Sign and brief Norway ’s role in Sri Lanka . India appreciates the same and emphasize that North and East whish were merged under Indo-Lanka Agreement shall be merged again. </p><p> </p><p>28.03.2010 - JVP is still continuing to protest at the Lipton roundabout. They promise that they will bring down the government they have brought to power.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>30.03.2010 - Mahinda Rajapaksha (former King of corruption) is punished with 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for corruption, malpractices and family development that no other politician in Sri Lanka has even heard of.</p><p> </p><p>06.09.2010 - There are serious signs of disagreements between the president (Sarath Fonseka) and Prim Minister Ranil Wickramasingha’s government over corruption, malpractices of ministers etc. Prim Minister threatens not to pass funds for president’s office and ministries. Further PM request President to hand over the ministries that are kept under president.</p><p> </p><p>07.09.2010 - JVP conducts a series of seminars called “Rata Koibatada?”.
