Her father has passed away in March, 1995. Her mother has also undergone a hysterectomy for uterine cancer and her sister is an A/L commerce teacher at Kotte Ananda Shasthralaya. She is married and a mother of two children aged 5 years and 3 months. Her husband works as a binder at a printing station. It is evident that Samitha has minimal support from her family and at this time we think it is our responsibility and duty to help her in every possible way. She underwent surgery for fixation of the spine on 19.02.2008 and she will face the dilemma of undergoing a neurological surgery or a thorough rehabilitation program overseas. We are still in search of the best surgeons around the world who have successfully cured this kind of cases in the past and also for the finest rehabilitation centers around the globe. For all of the above we will be in need of a huge financial support to give Samitha a quality assured life in the future. Had fate not been thus cruel to her, she would have had a normal life that we all take so much for granted while curing and serving so many people in need.
